In the world of real estate, its common knowledge that an undeveloped piece of land in the right location is a strong investment so if you’ve recently decided you want to purchase your own empty property, you’ve made a good choice. Most people don’t realize that there are millions of undeveloped acres of prime land available to be bought for incredibly low prices. The trick is to find these hidden gems so that you can buy them and turn a profit.

Locating empty lots, undeveloped properties and homes that are for sale or will be in the future can be done in many different ways. If the owner has given up paying property taxes, it’s likely they don’t care a lot abut the property, particularly if they live out of state. By reaching out to them, in a tasteful manner, and letting them know you’re interested in buying, you’re taking a load off their shoulders and it’s likely you’ll get a good deal.

There are several explanations for why owners don’t bother paying taxes on their property. Often times they’ve their passion for the property or were never passionate about owning it in the first place. Other times they have forgotten to pay, which usually occurs when an owner does not live on a property or inherits land, or simply cannot afford to. These sellers are the kind of people you want to approach about making a deal. If you buy a property for a low price, you can sell it to another investor for a profit. You’re still selling the property for a relatively inexpensive price, so investors will be eager to buy from you and you’ll sell quickly.
